Skilled manpower and construction of physical infrastructure to increase fisheries production in Kaptai Lake.

1. a) Piglet production in nursery May 100: Improvement in tonnes.

If the fish production in the lake increases, it will be possible to meet the non-food needs of all including the tribal people living in the lake area of Rangamati and Khagrachari districts as well as improve their socio-economic status.


b) Capacity building of Marisharchar Hatchery: Construction of 06 (six) new bottles at Marisharchar Hatchery to increase the production of molecules. It will increase the molecule production to 120 kg.

c) Expansion of Deba Nurseries: Implementation of 20 Deba Nurseries.

Implementation of 30 Deba nurseries.

Implementation of 40 Deba nurseries.

d) Creation of sanctuaries for conservation of sanctuaries and installation of fishing prohibition signboards in each sanctuaries: Creation of a new sanctuaries in front of Kaptai sub-centre and shifting of Nanyarchar Chikkuri Bill sanctuaries to Bir Shrestha Munsi Abdur Rauf Chattar.

e) Production of brood (mother) fish by bringing fry from Halda river. Besides, brood (mother) fishes are collected from the natural source of Kaptai lake for hatchery production.

f) Renovation of Marisharchar nursery and brood pond banks, leveling of bottom and raising of embankment height.

g) Provision of cut wire fencing as safety fencing in Marischarchar brood ponds.

h) Construction of packing sheds: Construction of modern packing sheds at Rangamati and Kaptai sub-centres.

i) Construction of road at Kaptai sub-centre: Construction of a road from Jetty Ghat to Pontoon at Kaptai sub-centre.

j) Construction of 2 floating pontoons at Kaptai sub-centre.



k) Establishment of check posts: Establishment of 2 check posts to prevent illegal fish smuggling.

l) Construction of office building, market building, rest house, shelter and training center with modern facilities in Rangamati center.

m) Construction of commercial market and staff barracks by upgrading the Rangamati staff barracks to a multi-storied building.

n) Construction of 1 cold storage with modern facilities at Rangamati Centre.
